Frequently asked questions
What rights do you buy?
We seek ownership of your transferable U.S. composition (music publishing) interests only. We don’t acquire masters or recordings, and you keep your rights outside the United States. Ownership of a copyright and songwriter performance-royalty income aren’t the same thing, and not every writer’s share can be transferred — we review what can be included.
I made my song with Suno. Can I submit it?
Yes, if you contributed original human-written music or lyrics and the song meets every other requirement. Created a song with Suno and uploaded it directly to Instagram? We accept qualifying Original Audio and User Sounds with 5,000 or more Reels.
What does the 50% requirement mean?
We review your specific human-created contributions and supporting evidence. Our 50% requirement is an acquisition policy, not a guarantee of copyright protection. Human contributions don’t make AI-generated portions protected.
What link do I submit?
Your song’s Instagram audio-page link. If the same composition appears on other Instagram audio pages, you can add those too — we count each page separately until we confirm they’re the same composition, and never count a Reel twice.
Do you count views, likes, or followers?
No. We count Reels using your song — not views, likes, followers, or streams.
I have a distributor, a PRO, or platform licenses. Can I still submit?
Yes. Disclose them on the form. Ordinary platform licenses and PRO affiliations are reviewed, not automatically rejected.
Does my song need to be registered?
No. We ask about registration status during review, but an unregistered song isn’t rejected for that reason alone.
What if you can’t verify my count automatically?
That isn’t treated as zero. Your submission goes to manual review.
What happens after I submit?
We review your song. If it looks like a fit, we invite you to a private second step to share demos, drafts, and other creation evidence. Submitting doesn’t create an agreement or transfer any rights.
Do you buy my master recording?
No. We don’t acquire masters or recordings. You keep your master and your rights outside the United States.
Does everyone who submits get an offer?
No. Offers depend on eligibility, verified Reel usage, authorship and ownership review, and a signed purchase agreement.
Are instrumental songs accepted?
Yes. Instrumental songs are accepted. Songs with lyrics must have English lyrics.
Is Songbuyer.ai affiliated with Suno?
No. We accept qualifying songs made with Suno and other AI music tools, but we aren’t affiliated with or endorsed by any AI music company.
Still unsure? Read AI-assisted song requirements or how it works.
